More of often then not lunch time is an oppertunity to get more work done. But occasionally I get to escape the office and eat lunch with co-workers where the conversations bounce from topic to topic and talk about things we have come across in recent days.

Lunch Time Links aims to recollect those links talked about during lunch.

The Eaters:
Erik Johnson, Account Planner, Razorfish. ( on twitter )
Rob Shields, Director of Technology, Razorfish. ( on twitter )
Myself. ( on twitter )

The Links:

spendster.org
How we spend our money. A site to share your story of impulse buying, over-spending or just plain wasting money on the stuff you don’t need.

farecast.live.com
Track airline price trending.
Side Dish : Interested to see if their is hourly price trending, ie is there an optimal time to book a ticket?

Adobe Zoetrope Video
Adobe’s Zoetrope, the ability to view a websites visual history and not just what is on the page at that given moment.

Malcom Gladwell on Spagatti Sauce
Talk about how spagatti sauce changed from just a single style/type to thirty plus varities.
Side Dish : Trying to understand what is it that people want, do they themselves even know what it is?

Facebook crowns the top apps
A list of winning Facebook apps that each will collect a prize of $250k for continued development.
Side Dish : Only one of the apps listed, MouseHunt, is a pure game. Interesting.

Plenty of Fish
Free dating site with an ever growing number of users, and a sub-par design.
Side Dish : People make assumptions about what is important, but until its put out there and users are using it we do not know for sure.

MySpaceID
MySpaceID, joining the ranks of OpenID/OpenSocial framework
Side Dish : Do they offer enough beyond just universal login?

Loopt Mix
A brand new beta feature launched in the Loopt app for iPhone. Create a customized public profile to connect with new people nearby who share common interests and affiliations.
Side Dish : Nice, but as with most iPhone apps of this type the app needs to remain open to be useful. Which in turn makes the service not all that useful.
