Send to a friend. Nice at a conceptual level, but how do you execute?
If that friend is my mom then email works.
If its a friend from college then Facebook works.
If its a friend that I use to work with Twitter works.
If its a friend that I have not met yet blogging about it works.

Fact of the matter is that there is an ever increasing number of services, sites and methods that people are using to share, catalogue, remember and recall content that they find across the web. And, as a publisher or content creator, trying to predict which one is the right one for your site can be a difficult task.

Enter Sharethis and Addthis.
Their solution? Simple. Click one button and up pops a window with every service under the sun ( well not that many, but over 30 ) from which a users can choose which to use. This one-button solution is both elegant, clean and allows for growth over time to include and new service that might arise.

For users this is a wonderful system as they have quick immediate access for sharing content in the format
that works best for them, be it bookmarking, emailing, blogging, social networking, the choice is up to them.

For publishers these systems work well because you are making your content extremely transferable while having limited overhead. Did I mention that they both offer free tracking and analytics? Hard to go wrong.

Check them out and let me know what you think.
